‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Sharon Deserves Understanding – Her Attackers Living In Glass Houses

Sharon (Sharon Case) has often been maligned on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Now, after the big reveal, some Genoa City residents are once again tagging her as the town pariah. However, those detractors have been living inside glass houses for the bulk of their lives.

Okay, Sage (Kelly Sullivan) isn’t alive. So she’s living in another world’s glass house as of the moment and possibly it’s halfway to between here and paradise. She was the first to attack Sharon for the Christian (Jamie and Alister Tobias) debacle. Yet, Sage lied to Nick (Joshua Morrow) about him being the father of her first-born child and never had the opportunity to tell him the truth.

Victor (Eric Braeden) is a scoundrel, who literally cocks his head back and looks down his nose at Sharon as though she’s an insect. This attitude is held by a man who hired Mariah (Camryn Grimes) to gaslight Sharon. Of course that was just one of the many moral and legal crimes he’s committed through the years.

Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) sees Sharon as a blight within the Newman family. She’s fought her ex-daughter-in-law on countless occasions and has rarely been understanding. Nikki never experienced in-law opinion injections into her marriage. Can anyone truly say that Nikki thought, or thinks, of Sharon as her own child?

To be fair, Sharon hasn’t been fully scorned. Nick and Dylan (Steve Burton) were naturally upset at the learning that Sully never existed and that Christian never died. But they’ve also offered measured compassion. Each brother knows Sharon in a deeper way than most people. She’s not one-dimensional as some choose to believe.

The aforementioned Mariah stands as Sharon’s greatest defender. That’s a long road for Cassie’s (also Grimes) twin sister to have traveled since she first arrived in Wisconsin. Even though Mariah was unfairly pulled into this messy situation, she still loves her mom and wants the best for her.

Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) is a unique individual in this scenario. She has criticized Sharon to her face, while also persuading Nick on more than one occasion to take it easy on his ex-wife. Her peacemaking efforts are partially driven by the knowledge that Adam (Justin Hartley) is believed to be Christian’s father. A secret she and Victor intend to withhold from everyone indefinitely.
