‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Jill’s Mama Bear Moves Are Working – Billy Is Being Tamed

Jess Walton’s character Jill has been called many things through the years on ‘The Young and the Restless’. One of them is mother. Currently, she’s fiercely fronting a mama bear motif and her passioned efforts appear to be working.

Ages ago, Jill tricked John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) into siring another heir. Fans of ‘The Young and the Restless’ will recall that historic episode took place in the Abbott living room. The result produced another son.

In 2016, Billy (Jason Thompson) moved into the Chancellor mansion because he wanted to be on his own. He opted to inject modernity into a space he considered staid. Visually, this classic setting now offers a projection of Billy’s frame of mind. However, Billy didn’t anticipate that his mom would unexpectedly return to Genoa City, invoke a clause in their residence agreement, reclaim rights to the well-built throne, and tell him yellow was going to be reapplied everywhere.

Jill has hovered over Billy in the past. But, she can’t be blamed for her behavior considering her son’s personality benders, instant addictions, and various goofy indiscretions. While he’s often been lost with a strong woman in his life, he clearly drifts deeper into the abyss when alone. So, having mom’s shadow around is good, whether he likes it, or not.

Cane (Daniel Goddard) is Jill’s sort-of adopted son. He’s generally been a good boy in her eyes. That’s why she tapped him to work at Chancellor Industries and handle Billy. While they might fight, shifting her biological son’s focus to a perceived sibling rivalry is smart strategy. She’s basically blocked off the business parts of Billy’s weekdays on ‘The Young and the Restless’ in so doing.

Attempting to repair ‘Villy’ is another daunting task Jill has embraced. She knows that this orchestration will be challenging and could prove impossible to complete. However, her grandchildren’s well-being is worth the effort. Whether her brash cub realizes it, or sasses all attempts made (with a wink to the classic, now-Chancellor company and current storyline), this could prove to be the most interesting portion of Y&R’s new arc.
