‘The Young and The Restless’ Spoilers: Illness Temporarily Halts Hilary’s Evil Plans

Some see Hilary (Mishael Morgan) as a strong character. Others see her as a villain. However, no one can deny that the health setback she’s suffered is real. Her current stay in Genoa City Memorial Hospital has also temporarily foiled her aggressive plans on ‘The Young and the Restless’.

Test results appeared to show that Dr. Simon Neville’s (Michael E. Knight) protocol was working. Yet, Hilary needed to be taken to the hospital because she collapsed into Devon’s arms inside the restaurant of his Athletic Club. While revealed as a self-promoter in the past, Hilary clearly wasn’t faking in this instance.

Viewers of ‘The Young and the Restless’, along with many fictional GC residents, were rightly influenced by the ‘Boy who cried wolf‘ syndrome where this character is concerned. It’s not possible to be certain about anything once someone has broken trust on countless occasions. Even considering visible hand tremors, Hilary could have been participating in another purposeful ruse this week. But, she wasn’t.

Devon remains one of the poorest souls on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He’s been put through the ringer by his so-called wife so many times. Despite everything, he still loves Hilary and continues to stand by her side even though he knows that she’s shifted her eyes toward Jack’s (Peter Bergman) prestige and money. Lily (Christel Khalil) and Cane (Daniel Goddard) advised Devon to remain married, for awhile, in order to keep Hilary neutralized. Whether that counsel is wise seems uncertain and could prove dangerous.

Hilary’s current hospitalization momentarily stops her plans to take half of Devon’s inherited fortune in a divorce settlement. Jack hasn’t yet learned of Phyllis’ (Gina Tognoni) indiscretions. So, Mr. Abbott could become a vulnerable target, or even begin pursuing a union with Hilary depending upon when he learns the truth about his brother Billy (Jason Thompson). With whatever plays out in everyone’s regard, Hilary will continue splitting the audience of CBS’ iconic, enduring daytime steamer.
