‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Devon Buys Media Off – Katherine Would Be Proud

'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Devon Buys Media Off – Katherine Would Be ProudKatherine (Jeanne Cooper) knew what she was doing on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Leaving the overwhelming bulk of her estate to Devon (Bryton James) was more than just a family decision. No, Katherine left her grandson, via Tucker (Stephen Nichols), her wealth because she believed he was savvy young man. And, ‘The Duchess’ was right.

Nichols hasn’t played Tucker since 2013. He’s since returned to his far more famous role as ‘Patch’ on Days of Our Lives. However, his character’s son continues to hold major sway in Genoa City.

After a GC Buzz reporter (played by Brian McDaniel) slimmed Jack (Peter Bergman), Devon had enough. He offered the shyster a wad of money to drop the story, but he didn’t follow through. So, Devon bought the problem off. That business decision seems smart for a number of reasons, as time will likely tell.

As a side note, Brian McDaniel’s wife is Angelica McDaniel. Her official title with CBS Entertainment and CBS Television Distribution is Executive Vice President, Daytime Programs and Syndicated Programming Development. In real life, Brian McDaniel is a comedian and a former TMZ stalwart. So, the inspired idea of having him playing a GC Buzz reporter was widely appreciated by all viewers who got (or, who will now get) the inside joke.

Devon’s family has often been the subject of wild public speculation. As steady viewers recall, his wife Hilary (Mishael Morgan) leaked terrible information about the Winter’s clan to GC Buzz when she first came to town. The turnabout with her now becoming involved with this website should prove to be engaging.

Facts are in the eyes of the beholder in today’s internet-driven world. Hard news isn’t dead, it’s just been pushed to the far corner of the room. Personal speculation appears to be supplanting traditional truth. Digitally digging for this modern gold has become a modern craze. So, it’s fully fitting that Y&R would embrace this trend as its storylines flow to the future.
