‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Cane’s Pain Can’t Be Overcome, On A Dangerous Path To Addiction

Cane (Daniel Goddard) isn’t as strong as he thinks he is on ‘The Young and the Restless’. That’s why he’s been pushing himself so hard shortly after having had serious knee surgery. And Lily (Christel Khalil) is rightfully concerned, as any loving wife would be.

Eventually, something has to give. Yes, Cane is a healthy guy. But any human being who’s recovering from the type of surgery he had would need a number of months to rebound physically. In this case, Cane is attempting to maintain a normal pace just weeks after going under the knife.

To-date Cane has avoided popping painkillers. However, if he continues putting pressure on his repaired knee it will eventually give out. Assuming he doesn’t push himself over the line, pharmaceutical aids will likely be used to enhance his mental and physical abilities.

Brash and Sassy has been chaotic from the jump. Jill (Jess Walton) maneuvered the company away from Billy (Jason Thompson) for non-business reasons. She mixed Cane with Billy and Victoria (Amelia Heinle), which initially seemed like two, not just one, top brass member too many. Yet, this former cosmetic giant has made progress with the three-headed monster in place.

But, there has only been one consistent executive since Day 1. Cane’s held everything together whenever Billy and Vickie were battling, or were unavailable. That’s why Mr. Ashby doesn’t want to be away from the office for long. He rightfully wonders if the place will quickly go off-track if he’s not there to keep everything in line.

Jill hasn’t done much to reassure her so-called son. She recently agreed to keep him in the loop, but her main interest is still reviving ‘Villy’. Cane knows that and for whatever reason has agreed to continue working. Apparently the pay must be good enough and, at this point, he needs the health care benefits.

At least Billy offered solid information to Lily this week, as he noticed that his brother wasn’t taking care of himself. Hopefully Cane will realize what he should be doing, or Lily will put her foot down. Cane surely won’t recover if he continues on this dangerous path and it appears as though he needs his family to help him change course.
