‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Victor Offers Cryptic Chloe Comment – Chelsea’s Surprise Noticeable

Victor (Eric Braeden) doesn’t trust Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. So, in typical ‘Black Knight’ style he offered a cryptic comment to Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) about the woman who she thinks of as her best friend. He said that she wasn’t fully stable and was putting on a front for everyone.

But the surprised look on Chelsea’s face isn’t likely to immediately open any danger zones. Instead, Victor will keep watch over his daughter-in-law and hope for, or orchestrate, better days ahead.

Chloe didn’t fully convince the ‘Moustache’ that Adam’s (formerly played by Justin Hartley) death didn’t come at her hands. Regardless of the fact that he previously recruited her to help him frame his own son for murder, Victor didn’t gain any respect for Delia’s (Sophie Pollono) mother throughout that twisted storyline. Viewers really have to hand it to Chloe. Her fierce shrewdness has neutralized Y&R’s legacy villain for the time being, as his threat to take Bella (Cali May Kinder) can’t be realized without immediate repercussions taking place.

It’s always rather odd to think about Victor as a villain, yet that’s what he is. The lead male character on daytime’s number 1 soap opera has been, is and will likely remain a bad guy indefinitely. What does that say about the culture at large, or viewer’s split feelings about Braeden’s iconic alter ego?

Linked to the above situation is the secret that Chelsea and Victor share. They believe that Christian’s (Jamie and Alister Tobias) father was Adam. That puts Victor in a bad position because he would never want Chloe to know that another one of Adam’s sons, the other being Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois), is within her grasp at the penthouse. Y&R devotees recall that Chloe once kidnapped Connor and took him to Paris.

One of his alliances involves Chloe having framed Adam for the false murder of Constance Bingham (Sally Kellerman). Another connection involves Chelsea holding her good friend Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) rediscovered baby, while knowing that he’s likely Adam’s child. As always, Victor’s 3-D game of chess has him between, above and around all key players. Which piece he moves next, or for what reason remains unknown.
