‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Victor Gave Chelsea Bad Advice – Why Did She Take It?

'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Victor Gave Chelsea Bad Advice – Why Did She Take It?Victor (Eric Braeden) often sees life from one angle on ‘The Young and the Restless’, his own. That’s why the recent advice he offered to Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) was questionable. Telling her to keep Nick (Joshua Morrow) in the dark about Adam’s (formerly played by Justin Hartley) biological connection to Christian (Jamie and Alister Tobias) established an indefinite problem.

It’s understandable that Chelsea sought Victor’s input. Adam recently died (supposedly), so she couldn’t turn to him. Her father-in-law was the only person on the plant who believes that Nick isn’t Christian’s dad. Neither of Adam’s loved ones actually has scientific proof this theory is true.

Of course Victor may have had a paternity test conducted at some point. Then again, he may have altered said results to portray Adam as the father for his own twisted reasons. With whatever is true, ‘Chadam’ was led to believe that Adam was Christian’s father. As viewers recall, Sage (Kelly Sullivan) left a letter that was to be read in the event of her passing. That handwritten message addressed her son’s paternity.

Ardent Chelsea detractors have already condemned her choice to withhold this information from Nick. However, reasoned minds would put themselves in her position and then explore what would have, or will happen if she comes clean. Yes, soapy choices are often complex.

She could have told Nick, or can tell him, the truth. Adam’s DNA sample is on file with the Genoa City Police Department, so a paternity test can be conducted to confirm or deny her claim. Nick would clearly question why she didn’t reveal this information earlier. Plus, their growing friendship would surely be tested, if not ended regardless of what test results proved.

Adam doesn’t necessarily have to be resurrected for this issue to be revisited either. An as yet unknown scenario could develop that allows Nick to learn that he might not be Christian’s father without Chelsea being involved. A number of characters could become aware of Adam’s potential paternity rights and relay that information to Nick for whatever reason. But Chelsea has made her choice and is now hoping that this issue remains hidden.
