‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Victor Confesses To Nikki He’s Responsible For Adam’s Situation, Promises To Fix It – Can Victor Get His Son Freed?

Victor (Eric Braeden) often hides the truth, or openly lies, on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But, he showed a rare moment of honesty this week when he didn’t refute framing Adam (Justin Hartley) and told Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) that he would do all he could to fix his son’s situation. ‘Niktor’s’ recent reunion was the impetus for this unusual scene.

Scott’s character knows her husband better than anyone on earth. So, after Abby (Melissa Ordway) asked her if Victor was responsible for Adam’s imprisonment, Mrs. Newman reentered the executive suite and mildly questioned the ‘Moustache’. Not looking to battle, Nikki gently asked Victor if he was responsible for Adam’s situation on ‘The Young and the Restless’. After holding her gaze, Victor said, “Sometimes we all make mistakes.”

Whether, or how soon, Victor will be able to engineer Adam’s exoneration remains to be seen. He just pled guilty to a charge that can’t be refuted. But, the issue of temporary insanity could always be asserted in the future. Now that Michael’s (Christian LeBlanc) been fired it’s possible that Victor’s replacement barrister, Leslie (Angell Conwell), will pursue that route.

Nikki understood the message Victor was sending and appreciated that he’d been as direct as he could be with her. She also offered the perfect amount of compassion, as she embraced her true love and told him that she knew he would do whatever he could to resolve the matter. That moment was touching, especially for longtime Y&R devotees.

It’s comforting to see ‘Niktor’ in a good place again. The glory days of ‘The Young and the Restless’ projected Victor and Nikki in strongly dissimilar instances. Sometimes they waged extended personal wars, while at other times they were inseparable. Light-hearted fans and all who aren’t cynics, have always wished this particular couple the best. The term ‘soul mates’ fits this enduring pair snugly on Y&R. And, as their love has been restored, the trust Nikki and Victor shared confirms that they’ve once again achieved relationship tranquility.
