‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Travis Given Blind Second Chance – Billy’s Apparent Replacement Actually A Placeholder

Victoria (Amelia Heinle) forgave Travis (Michael Roark) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. She did so without having access to crucial information that certainly would have swayed her reasoned decision. She’s dismissed Michelle’s (Kelly Frye) return, while not being told that Travis’ reconnected with his ex-girlfriend.

Travis decided not to tell Vickie that he and Michelle betrayed the trust that ‘Tricky’ has been building for months. Of course, Vickie quickly glommed onto Travis because he seemed to be a decent guy that loved her and the kids. Mr. Crawford’s feelings appear to be genuine, but part of the attraction to Ms. Newman likely represents a rebound from his New York debacle.

Targeting his supervisor’s wife wasn’t smart. Doing so was amoral and created career consequences. After Travis lost his Wall Street position he supposedly made his way to Wisconsin. Based upon what he previously stated, Vickie has came to believe that Travis didn’t stop off anywhere else. Considering the personal information he withheld from the jump and the serious personal indiscretion he’s concealing now, does Vickie (or the viewers) actually know his true backstory?

Ashley (Eileen Davidson) could prove to be a valuable ally in this increasingly complicated situation. While she claimed to be friends with Michelle, it seems that they were more casually acquainted than deep confidants. Plus, the age gap between them indicates that Michelle hasn’t attained anywhere near the level of sophistication that Ashley possesses. So Ms. Abbott should be able to read some of Michelle’s moves before she makes them if she returns to town again and creates further trouble.

Billy is hitting the nostalgia bottle hard lately. He wants his old life back with Victoria, which is fully understandable. Meanwhile, Travis may be revealing himself as a placeholder for Billy, instead of a replacement. Honest fans wouldn’t claim that they saw this one coming. So Travis isn’t actually growing on them. He’s actually making Billy look better by the day and that’s quite the reversal.
