‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Summer’s Pregnancy Scare Leads To ‘Suca’ Engagement – Are Luca And Summer In It For The Long Haul?

'The Young And The Restless' Spoilers: Summer's Pregnancy Scare Leads To 'Suca' Engagement - Are Luca And Summer In It For The Long Haul?A baby story was nicely teased on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But, Summer (Hunter King) and Luca (Miles Gaston Villanueva) aren’t expecting. Instead, three negative test results and a talk with Nick (Joshua Morrow) actually enabled ‘Suca’ to get engaged.

Summer informed Luca that she might be with child and took a home pregnancy test, followed by two others, just to be sure. As she was preceding Luca went to Crimson Lights, where Nick confronted the potential father of his grandchild on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Luca was surprised that Nick actually encouraged him to stand by Summer.

Nick overheard ‘Suca’ talking at work prior to the coffee house scene, which sent him to see Phyllis (Gina Tognoni). ‘Red’, who’s currently involved herself in two divergent romantic stories, told her ex-husband that she would visit their daughter and offer support. After hearing a controlled verbal rant, Summer told her mom that she wasn’t going to deliver what would be Phyllis’ second grandchild.

Villanueva continues to deliver a textured performance. He’s simultaneously injected hope and doubt into Y&R’s audience regarding his character’s true intentions toward Summer. However, at this point, even if Luca still wants to be involved at Newman Enterprises, it seems apparent that he actually loves the woman who’s become his fiance on ‘The Young and the Restless’.

So, the writers were telegraphing potential pregnancy tidbits into various scenes during the past few months. That’s been revealed as a plot vehicle to deepen Summer’s relationship with Luca. While she did take her father’s advice to heart, Summer appears to have decided that her fiance is man worth marrying.

Key to this still-fluid conclusion was Luca’s recent admission that he had been using Summer to gain a foothold in her family’s corporation. The emotions he genuinely displayed when fatherhood became a brief possibility and the ring he obtained for his hoped-for bride, equally underscore Luca’s evolution in Genoa City. With whatever his initial intentions were when he arrived in Wisconsin, at this point in time he’s earned the benefit of the doubt in Summer’s heart.
