Sharon (Sharon Case) didn’t want Nick (Joshua Morrow) to stay at the cottage on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Patty (Stacy Haiduk) is safely contained at Stonevale and Dylan (Steve Burton) will be home shortly, so there was no need for her ex-husband to retain his bodyguard position. ‘Shick’ fans must have been disappointed, as their favorite super couple seems nowhere near reunion as a result.
As Y&R fans recall, Sharon and Nick were nearly remarried in 2014. But, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) stopped the long-awaited nuptials with her return to Genoa City. However, a number of instances since that time have positioned the two beloved characters within the same setting, which often raised hopes that this pair would find their way back to each other.
Currently, Nick continues to recover from the perceived loss of his son and wife. While Sage (Kelly Sullivan) truly is dead, the Christian issue reflects a double-edged sword. The little boy who everyone calls Sully is actually Christian, plus he might not be Nick’s child. The word ‘might’ was intentionally used because Sage’s belief that Adam (formerly played by Justin Hartley) was the father of her son could easily be overturned through DNA testing.
Considering what Nick has endured, it’s natural that he would be heartened by contact with the baby he believes is his brother’s son. That’s also why Nick enjoys spending time with Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois), who’s his other brother’s child. So, it’s clearly outrageous that Sharon, of all people, would take advantage of her former soul mate’s travails for her own selfish reasons.
Rooking Mariah (Camryn Grimes) into her Sully scheme added to Sharon’s list of moral crimes. However, Sharon detractors should take heart as the walls of this baby-swap arc are about to crumble. Soon the world will know that Christian never died. And, in all likelihood, the woman who should have told the truth as soon as she learned it will be held accountable. At that point the possibility of ‘Shick’ even eventually reconciling would seem to be nearly impossible.
