How about seeing something different on ‘The Young and the Restless’? Yes, let’s have Sharon (Sharon Case) do the right thing. After making so many mistakes in recent months (and years), the Genoa City pariah is primed to do right by Dylan (Steve Burton).
The Christian (Jamie and Alister Tobias) debacle began when Dr. Sandra Anderson (Elizabeth Bogush) refused to release her high school girl grudge.
More than two decades later Sandy returned to Wisconsin and applied revenge to Nick (Joshua Morrow) through his son. Often standing where bad luck strikes, Sharon voluntarily checked herself into Fairview where Dr. Malpractice was residing. Devoted viewers know the rest of the story from there.

At this point in the soapy game the three key players (Nick, Sharon and Dylan) are at a court-ordered standoff. ‘Shylan’ can’t see Christian due to a temporary restraining order that was granted against them.
However, the judge felt more time was needed before he could render a decision about visitation. That choice nicely fit the extended nature of daytime drama’s scripts and passes this storyline decision to Sally Sussman’s writing team.
Purely as an aside to the viewing audience – It was unusual that the judge wasn’t wearing robes in the court room. Only a jacket and tie was seen on him. Who knew that casual Wednesday was on the docket in GC?

Sharon apologized to Dylan after the hearing, as she recognized that the situations she’s been involved in continued to create negative consequences for him. Based upon Dylan’s post-hearing plea, Sharon is fully motivated to follow his advice and not exacerbate existing problems.
Case’s character isn’t often so contrite, or aware of the impact her actions have on others. But the enormity of this situation is surely sinking in. Plus, Dylan’s continued loyalty to Sharon has affected her outlook. Yes, ‘Shaters’ have been left with little, if any legitimate axes to grind. Sharon is solving, not creating, problems as December arrives.
