Sharon (Sharon Case) finds herself in yet another terrible situation on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Despite the fact that she was one of the victims in Dr. Sandra Anderson’s (Elizabeth Bogush) baby swap vendetta, Sharon made matters exponentially worse by lying about what happened. Now, Patty (Stacy Haiduk) is using real leverage in the form of baby blackmail.
Excuse makers hold Sharon harmless in any situation. Fans know that this character has sometimes been a true victim and at other times has acted badly. But, even viewers who like this character know that choosing to keep Christian was wrong. Yet, that’s what Sharon did after she confirmed that Sully wasn’t her child.

The idea that a woman who had her own newborn baby (Faith, Alyvia Alyn Lind) taken from her years ago at Fairview would later knowingly keep another woman’s newborn son is incredible. And, enablers can’t use mental health issues as a crutch in this instance. Sharon also isn’t an animal, meaning that she has free will and continues to knowingly choose her own actions.
Roping one of her adult children, Mariah (Camryn), into this lie is also detestable. She’s guilt-tripping that poor soul into remaining mute about this matter. That’s certainly the opposite of what any responsible adult, or honest parent, would do.

Shame on Sharon for keeping Christian from the man (Nick, Joshua Morrow) she thinks is his father. Yes, she’s given no wiggle room where this plot point is concerned either. The fact that Adam (formerly played by Justin Hartley) is actually Christian’s dad is moot where the morality of this issue is concerned.
All Sharon needed to do was tell Dylan (Steve Burton) that her memory had cleared, explain what she recalled, have a DNA test conducted with her husband and ex-husband being fully aware and then handle the results. But, she didn’t do that, which led to Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) emotional reaction and an triggered accidental death that never should have happened. But, because Sharon didn’t act responsibly, she furthered the Sully lie. However this climax comes to pass, she’ll be lucky if she isn’t brought up on charges of kidnapping as well.

I am a Sharon fan but yes she was horribly wrong in this situation. Chelsea will be almost or just as accountable if she keeps the truth from Nick. Another situation waiting to explode when new Adam shows up…if Victor doesn’t take care of it first. And let’s remember Victor is every bit as despicable as Sharon, and always gets away with it 🙂
