For all of you Young and Restless fans who have been dying to know when we would start seeing the writing of the shows done by Sally Sussman, well we have those details and more. It looks like good things are heading our way.
Sally Sussman’s first episode will air on December 7th and she says you can expect to see a difference right away. The very first episode will start with an Abbott family breakfast, which us viewers have not seen in quite a while. Sussman plans on getting back to the history of the show, from where it all started. So this is definitely great news.

The only downfall that comes with this news from Sussman’s interview with TV Insider was the fact that one of fans’ favorites will not be making a comeback on the show. When asked if Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) not being Christian’s father would be revealed soon, Sally replies, “I’m not playing it at all. Adam is off the show. And Justin Hartley will never be back. He’s too successful now.“
Sussman went on to say that she does not see any point of recasting his character and sees no reason for Nick to learn the truth. That makes some fans very unhappy. So it looks like Nick will continue to raise Christian as his own.

On a brighter note, Sally Sussman was very unhappy with the fact that John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) was killed off and the show and says it never should have happened. So there could be plans to bring him back and not as a ghost this time.So this is very exciting. She also plans to bring an unexpected soul mate story for Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson). So Ashley will finally have a storyline worth watching. Are you happy about that?
Last but not least, Sally Sussman has big plans for the character of Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). So hopefully this will help redeem her with fans. Fans are tired of seeing the repeat storylines with her and maybe that’s all about to change. So stay tuned to CBS’s “The Young and the Restless” to see how it all unfolds. Be sure to check out Sally Sussman’s first episode airing on December 7th.

So the show is going right back to the way it used to be…victor& Nikki then victor and Ashley then back to Nikki…jack with Nikki..then someone else..then back to Nikki ughhh sounds like good bye to any of the new interesting characters we might have gotten used to. Back to GH as my only soap soon I would guess! I think she underestimates the popularity of the Adam Newman character which is a sure sign that she is out of touch with the show.
Maybe Sussman was referring to a different love interest for Ashley, besides Victor…hopefully
I sure hope so 🙂
Hoping they bring back Michael E. Knight for Eileen Davidson or spice things up by putting her with Stitch!! Will be interesting, so many unsolved mysteries, so many possibilities!!
Stitch is a has-been.. a wimp with no backbone… Far as I am concerned he can leave when Dylan leaves… both are p^$$ie-whooped
I agree about Stitch lol. And Travis is the new Stitch, might as well dump him now. I think they left a lot unexplored with Ashley and Dr Neville!
hmm… I cant wait to see how they are going to bring John back since he has been dead for years and has been making “ghost” appearances… Unless they bring him back as a twin that no one knew about.. That seems to be the trend Y&R has done… It would be like bringing Brad back after we all saw him under the ice
I read that article too lol. On GH we expect people to be frozen and brought back to life but I can’t see that working on Y&R. I agree the twin thing is overdone!
