‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Phyllis Wiser Than Victor – Stops Jack From Sinking Himself

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) protected her husband on ‘The Young and the Restless’. While she doesn’t fully realize what Victor (Eric Braeden) is attempting to do, ‘Red’ offered wise advice to Jack (Peter Bergman) this week. By preventing him from providing GC Buzz with another piece of perceived damaging inside information, Phyllis also stopped Jack from becoming Victor’s victim.

Victor confirmed to Abby (Melissa Ordway) that Newman Enterprises board member Curtis Fielding (Bradley Snedeker) is the mole who’s been feeding Jack bogus information. Whether the ‘Black Knight’ was totally upfront with his daughter remains to be seen, as he could be in cahoots with Fielding. But, if he’s not, then the plan Victor is pursuing could become even more dangerous depending upon how Phyllis plays it.

While she was working in her corner office, Phyllis appeared to find surprising information in the confidential Newman Enterprises’ documents that she was reviewing. Summer’s (Hunter King) unexpected arrival caused her mom to put the papers away. But, that incident made viewers wonder if Phyllis has become suspicious of the validity of the apparent pay dirt Jack believes he’s gained.

‘Red’ wants to eventually reunite with her husband. In the meantime she’s working with him to bring down Victor. But she knows that Jack isn’t currently capable of fully restraining himself where the ‘Moustache’ is concerned.

Phyllis may need to risk her own safety, or work covertly with Fielding in order to ferret out the truth. Keeping Jack in the dark would be a risk because he rightfully doesn’t trust the woman who’s now his ex-wife. Yet, her intentions are pure and possible will prove deeply worthwhile.

Until she’s had time to explore her seeming suspicions, Phyllis has temporarily delayed Jack from providing GC Buzz with a second round of false information. When she can prove her theory, Phyllis will be able to provide Jack with a secret weapon to use against Victor. That act, along with others, will endear herself to Jack and possibly earn ‘Red’ another shot at being Mrs. Abbott.
