‘The Young and the Restless’ Jack has been giving all kinds of excuses and explanations for his wife’s attitude and frustration. He was even sympathetic when Phyllis tells him that she cannot be with him because he reminds her too much of Marco Annicelli. Jack has been more than understanding and kind to her; he even offers to go to marriage counseling to help make their marriage work.

Of course, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), the whole reason Phyllis ended up with the impostor in the first place, would be around at the most inopportune moment, and overhears Jack scheduling a marriage counseling appointment. Victor doesn’t reveal that he knows something is wrong right away, but we all know the “Almighty Victor” will use the knowledge when it best suits him!
Y&R’s Phyllis runs into Billy and once again, spoilers indicate that she tells him that they are over and she is relieved that Jack wants to fix their marriage and reconnect with her. Billy is a conflicted soul over this. Sometimes we see him trying to back off because he knows that the pressure is getting to Phyllis, and of course, he doesn’t want to see his brother hurting.
The Young and the Restless’ Jack and Phyllis, take their counseling seriously. During one of the sessions, Phyllis admits that she pushed Jack away because of what Marco and Victor did to her. Kind-hearted Jack is very hurt, but knew that it needed to be said; that Phyllis needed to say it out loud. Jack, still clueless to how much his wife is betraying him, says he is thankful that Marco is no longer in their lives, but Phyllis points out that Marco is still very much in their lives, he haunts her day and night.
She does make sure that Jack knows she doesn’t blame him, and that he was as much of a victim as she was. Y&R’s Phyllis and Jack leave without saying much to each other. As they go their separate ways, Jack starts to dread what is coming next. He knows that there is so much more stuff that Phyllis needs to get off her chest, and he isn’t entirely sure he is going to like what she has to say.

At the Chancellor mansion, Jill Abbott Atkinson (Jess Walton) is in the midst of a full-blown argument with her son Billy. Billy had learned that Jill was blackmailing Phyllis and wasn’t going to let that go on. Jill, of course, has no qualms about what she did to prevent Billy from crashing and burning. Billy is fed up, he had been drinking a lot of alcohol and he surprises Jill when he was told her that he was willing to go public with his relationship with Phyllis.
Everyone in Genoa City thinks he is a useless punk anyways, so the news wouldn’t have made any difference in people’s opinions of him. Billy tells Jill that she is a part of this lie now too, and she is guilty for holding the secret too. When Jill looks past Billy’s spiteful words, she realizes that Billy actually loves Phyllis.
