‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Noah and Summer Defend Their Parents – Long Road Lies Ahead

'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Noah and Summer Defend Their Parents – Long Road Lies AheadNoah (Robert Adamson) and Summer (Hunter King) naturally defended their parents on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Noah’s mom Sharon (Sharon Case) was the initial victim of Dr. Anderson’s (Elizabeth Bogush) bizarre baby-swap revenge scheme.

Summer’s dad Nick (Joshua Morrow) was kept from his son for approximately a year, believing that he was dead. But the former super couple known as ‘Shick’ has a long way to go to repair their own lives and the bond of trust that formerly existed between them.

Honest viewers aren’t afraid to acknowledge that Nick put the distant past on a disastrous course when he wasn’t able to console Sharon after Cassie (Camryn Grimes) was killed. Nick’s free will choice to bond with Phyllis (then played by the electric Michelle Stafford) destroyed his marriage with Sharon. Summer resulted from that relationship.

Noah was the miracle baby who was born prematurely, just like Christian (Jamie and Alister Tobias). Sharon and Nick initially thought that their son would die, which resulted in Grace Turner (played first by Josie Davis and then by Jennifer Gareis) finding Cassie. She reconnected Sharon with Cassie across a memorable arc. Sharon and Grace didn’t know it at the time, and neither did Y&R’s 1990s writing staff, but the little girl (Cassie) who Sharon gave up for adoption had a twin. Of course, Mariah (also played by Grimes) wouldn’t appear in Genoa City until 2014.

Like Summer, Noah loves his family. Unlike King’s character, Noah has also come to distrust Victor (Eric Braeden). The patriarch of the Newman clan is a wild card, as he often is, in the developing Christian reveal fallout. He could opt to sick legal hounds on Sharon and Mariah, who Victor paid to gaslight Sharon two years ago. Both women, with Sharon being in graver danger, could end up in prison as a result of their actions where the former Sully is concerned.

Nick has played it cool so far. He’s gotten his son back and wants to move forward with their lives. Nick also doesn’t want to be vindictive toward Sharon, as he realizes that she’s also suffered. Whether that good will holds remains to be seen, as the long road to redemption might be filled with family calls for reprisal.
