‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Natalie Wipes Victor’s Server – FBI Investigators Can’t Find Deleted Documents

The writing staff at ‘The Young and the Restless‘ seemingly winked at its audience. As part of a developing storyline involving the latest Newman-Abbott war, Victor (Eric Braeden) sent an implied verbal message to Natalie (Mara McCaffray). She understood the order and proceeded to clean Newman Enterprises’ materials with digital bleach, likely eliminating damaging evidence. The unusual reappearance of this side character now makes sense as well. Ms. Soderberg’s computer abilities were needed to cover up the ‘Moustache’s’ latest crime.

Natalie hadn’t been seen for more than a month. Then, suddenly she was shown sitting at Connie Wayne’s (Lise Colleen Simms) desk. McCaffray’s character advised that Connie had retired, which modestly raised the eyebrows of Y&R historians. But, queries about Connie’s send-off party never having been shown were only thumbed into certain comment’s sections by the hardest of hardcore Genoa City devotees. Those collective souls wondered if one transitional scene could have been created to aid the transition to Natalie 2.0?

It’s very unusual that Kevin’s (Greg Rikaart) former partner would willingly choose to apply for this position, considering her recent experience in working for Victor. She simply doesn’t trust the man. Considering her computer skill set, why wasn’t it possible for her to obtain a better job in Genoa City? And, why is it that Natalie has chosen to stay in Wisconsin? One answer could involve her existing feelings for Kevin never having waned. So, she chose to remain within his geographic proximity. But, this digression can be saved for further digital explorations.

Victor realized that he had a problem that needed to be fixed. Jack’s (Peter Bergman) acquisition and subsequent leak of damaging financial information about Newman Enterprises, via GC Buzz, embarrassed the corporate titan. More importantly, it suggested a contrast between reported numbers and reality. And, that’s why Federal investigators might be summoned. But, how could anyone expect G-Men and G-Women to find what’s missing? Thus the rub in this storyline that links directly to current events.

Victor might claim that Genoa City is stronger together than it is alone. His opponent might call him a nasty man in response. But, as Jack and Victor walk through the early stages of their most recent battle one thought, among many, comes to mind first. Maybe these two characters should run against each other for president in 2020. Of course, they would both be vying for the soap party nomination.
