For the moment, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) has hope on ‘The Young and the Restless’. It’s only been a week since ‘Philly’ was revealed. So, it’s natural that Jack (Peter Bergman) would need time to cool off. However, it seems like he’s committed to playing emotional hardball and that ‘Phack’ may never recover.
Phyllis knew all along that everyone’s world would explode if Jack ever learned she had connected with Billy (Jason Thompson). Well, Y&R fans know what recently happened. Boom!

In an unexpected maneuver, Phyllis didn’t opt for a rich divorce settlement. Instead, Jack was stunned to learn that she actually wanted no financial incentives to sever their legal marital ties. Instead ‘Red’ simply desired to keep her job at Jabot.
Jack agreed to his wife’s demand, but twisted the knife in so doing. First, he assigned her a new title. Basically, she was downgraded from a department head to the level of a new hire and assigned to a small, windowless office away from Jack’s work abode. Then, he’s proceeded to give Phyllis the cold shoulder whenever she’s attempted to have a conversation with him. Plus, he directly told his former soul mate that he no longer loves her. And, that last line hit home.

Ashley (Eileen Davidson) was told that no cave is coming. Jack directly stated to his sister that he’s not going to give into Phyllis under any circumstances. Ashley believes that her brother remains vulnerable to ‘Red’ as long as she’s around. But, time will prove whether Jack truly has evicted this longtime muse from his heart.
Relationships are never easy in real life, or on the small screen. It’s true that ‘Phack’ overcame a major indiscretion when Phyllis and Nick (Joshua Morrow) grew together and created Summer (Hunter King) many years ago. Last year Jack and Phyllis lived through the torture that Victor’s (Eric Braeden) paid doppelganger, Marco (Peter Bergman), injected into their lives. But, no reasonable mind blames Jack for deciding that Phyllis’ careening with Billy was totally out of line. Yet, for the moment, Phyllis still holds onto hope, which is all she deserves to own.
