‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Hilary’s Sabotage Plan Backfires – Public Cheers Mariah’s Moxie

Mariah (Camry Grimes) thought she was a klutz on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But Faith’s (Alyvia Alyn Lind) insightful comment caused her to reconsider. Upon further reflection, Mariah saw Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) condescending sneer in her memory and realized that those overpriced shoes had been intentionally adjusted.

At least one question needs to be asked before this critique begins; Why didn’t Sharon (Sharon Case) instantly realize that Hilary was responsible for Mariah’s fall? She saw the viper holding one of Chelsea 2.0’s mega-high heeled shoes just prior to the incident. Her inability to connect one to the other plays into Sharon’s air-headed characterization. Come on!

Okay, back to soapy business – Devon (Bryton James) had more than enough of his wife’s baloney. Hilary was seemingly incapable of working with a conscience. So he fired her from the lead GC Buzz hosting slot. Needing someone in a pinch, Devon then made the seemingly ill-advised decision to put Mariah in front of the camera.

Miss Copeland tried to make the best of her unwanted opportunity, fully knowing that she lacked on-air experience. While her Q&A session wasn’t polished, at least Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) got their company’s message across. Then, the red carpet incident happened.

After two models finished their turns in Chelsea 2.0’s mini fashion show, Mariah took to the floor, literally. She was out of her element, but would have been okay if one of the heels on her shoes hadn’t given way. A broken heel caused Mariah to fall on her face and at least fracture some bones. Hilary surely seems to have purposely sabotaged her former gopher.

However, Mariah began trending in a positive direction on social media after the incident happened. Yes, a typically snarky video meme was created that placed this on-air fall in a loop with an oops applied. But it seems that a sizable segment of the public likes Mariah’s moxie.

Meanwhile, Hilary remains unemployed. Maybe she can become familiar with GC Buzz’ coffee maker? One cream and no sugar please.
