‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Hilary’s Amateurish Management Style Ruffles Mariah’s Feathers – No Way To Run A Workplace

It’s nice to be the boss’ wife on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Hardly an achiever, Hilary (Mishael Morgan) literally got her job because Devon (Bryton James) wanted to redirect his spouse’s reckless energy. Her amateurish management style openly defies her husband’s wishes and is ruffling Mariah’s (Camryn Grimes) feathers. Neither situation bodes well for GC Buzz’ future endeavors.

Who wants to be on the receiving end of a know-nothing supervisor barking out commands five days a week and also through snarky texts during off-hours? Only a masochist. Discarding human decency and common sense, Hilary behaves as she does because she believes she won’t be fired. Here’s hoping Devon eventually deletes her name from his employee list.

Mariah doesn’t have a college degree. She’s also hamstrung by limited work experience and a sketchy personal record. Yes, this poor soul was desperate for a job and quickly took what Hilary threw at her. But how long will this street wise young lady take Mrs. Hamilton’s verbal abuse?

Presently, Hilary is attempting to ferret out information about the Christian (Jamie and Alister Tobias) reveal. Her gut instinct is right in this instance, as Mariah was involved with Sharon’s (Sharon Case) scheme shortly after it started. However, Mariah knows that she can’t admit anything because of the potential legal consequences that might result. And, of equal importance, she also wants to protect her mother.

Devon wants GC Buzz to evolve into a legitimate news source. He continues to believe that Hilary will eventually develop into an ethical reporter. How can that happen when this web site’s lead, no credentials reporter is working against him and is provoking her personal assistant?

At some point the tension that Hilary invents seems likely to force change within this dynamic. Mariah is a survivor with an edge. As long as she can maintain her privacy where the Christian reveal is concerned, Mariah just might turn the tables on this instant media diva. As viewers know, Devon wants Mariah to help keep Hilary under control. That charge has the potential to result in an unexpected roll reversal.
