‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Guardian Angel Katherine Chancellor Helps Nikki Newman Get Sober

‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicate that even though Katherine Chancellor [Jeanne Cooper] died nearly three years ago she is still looking out for Nikki Newman [Melody Thomas Scott]. Will Katherine serve as the guardian angel who will give Nikki the strength to get sober again?

The third anniversary of Jeanne Cooper’s death was May 8, so it is only appropriate that TPTB include the iconic Katherine Chancellor as part of ‘Y&R’ May sweeps storylines. Katherine was always Nikki’s rock, one of the only people who could keep Nikki on the sobriety track.

Even though Katherine is no longer part of Nikki’s physical world, ‘The Young and the Restless’ viewers will see Katherine come to Nikki’s aid once again. The prospect of Victor Newman [Eric Braeden] being released from prison early has Nikki running scared and turning to the bottle for comfort.

Nikki is certain that she is going to the number one target for Victor’s revenge. Drinking is the way Nikki chooses to cope with her fears. However, Jack Abbott [Peter Bergman] will show up at the GCAC and offer to escort Nikki home but his offer will be declined.

After Nikki leaves the GCAC alone she heads over to Chancellor Park. A small bottle of alcohol will be Nikki’s only companion as she looks upon the plaque honoring Katherine’s memory. Looking toward the heavens Nikki will have a memory of wishing upon stars as a child and felt alone and abandoned.

There is only so much comfort wishing upon a star can bring and Nikki will find herself asking Katherine for guidance. All of a sudden Nikki will fell strong enough to walk over to a trash can and throw away the bottle. Once again Katherine has come to Nikki’s rescue.

Will knowing that Katherine is looking down upon put Nikki back on the road to sobriety? Will Nikki be able to summon up the strength to stand her ground when Victor is released from prison and comes back to Genoa City to exact revenge for those who have betrayed him?
