‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Friday July 1: Ian Shoots Victor, Takes Nikki Hostage – Sharon Sees Sage, Freaks, Knocks Mariah Out

“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Friday, July 1, tease that Kevin (Greg Rikaart) will admit he hasn’t learned anything else about Victor’s (Eric Braeden) accomplice. At the penthouse, Adam (Justin Hartley) is ready to move forward with the trial anyway. Kevin insists he’ll keep searching for answers about the woman’s identity.

Adam urges Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) not to worry. He’s confident he’ll get off the hook. Elsewhere, Victor tells Meredith (Alicia Coppola) not to come to court. She questions why and wonders if the Newmans are right about Victor. Ian (Ray Wise) walks in and flashes an evil grin. He reminds Victor that they both want justice.

Later, Jack (Peter Bergman) shows up at the courthouse and shows his support for Adam. He believes Victor set Adam up. Summer (Hunter King) stands by her grandfather. Nearby, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) tells Paul (Doug Davidson) that she’s there to hear Victor’s testimony. She wants to find out if Victor will tell the truth or lie to destroy Adam.

Jack finds Victor and they start to bicker. Victor assures Jack that his intentions are pure. Once the trial begins, Dylan (Steve Burton) takes the stand and talks about the evidence. Nick (Joshua Morrow) also speaks about Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) journal and the possibility that it was forged on Victor’s orders.

Ian is up next. He indicates that Victor bragged about framing Adam. When Victor takes the stand, he shuts down that idea by saying he loves his son. Meredith slips in the back of the courtroom. Victor claims he never told Meredith about any proof against Adam. Vic adds that Adam isn’t a murderer. He also suggests Ian may have been the mastermind of the setup.

Just outside, Ian is led away and discovers that Adam’s escape plan was bogus. He grabs the bailiff’s gun and points it in Nikki’s direction. Victor appears and Ian shoots him instead. Everyone panics as Nick tries to stop the bleeding. Jack hands over his coat to help Nick put pressure on the wound. Paul grows impatient as they wait for an ambulance. Meanwhile, Ian manages to take Nikki as a hostage and they head off.

Other “Young and the Restless” spoilers say Mariah (Camryn Grimes) will confront Sharon (Sharon Case) about going off her meds. At home, Mariah waves a pill bottle in Sharon’s face and demands to know what’s going on. Sharon admits she stopped taking her medications in an effort to prevent visions of Sage.

As Mariah scolds her, Sharon starts hallucinating again. Mariah realizes that Sharon is having another delusion. She thinks this has gone way too far and wants Sharon to do something about it right now. Mariah rants that Dylan needs to protect the children.

Sage gets in front of Mariah and goads Sharon into hitting her with a bookend. Sharon shouts for Sage to shut up and ends up whacking Mariah in her confused state. As Mariah lies unconscious on the floor, Kevin arrives and asks what happened.

Sharon says she didn’t mean to hurt Mariah. She just had to get rid of “her.” A puzzled Kevin asks who Sharon is talking about. Will Kevin learn Sharon’s secret? This would definitely be big news.
