‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Faith’s Choice Understandable – Nick Needs Full Support

Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) said that she wants to live with her dad on ‘The Young and the Restless’. The harsh reality of her choice is a sad realization for Sharon (Sharon Case) and Dylan (Steve Burton), but can’t be totally unexpected. Faith’s choice is strongly linked to the love she has for her father and double-named brother. Whether any proposed move will produce long-term effects on all involved remains unknown.

Christian (Jamie and Alister Tobias) became Sully when Dr. Anderson (Elizabeth Bogush) completed her amoral revenge scheme last fall. Dylan accurately told his wife that Sandy started that act, but that she finished it. Like everyone else, Faith knows the entire story now and is just beginning to process the information. However, she’s a smart and kind-hearted young lady.

Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) death left Nick (Joshua Morrow) reeling. Faith and Nick’s other children comforted him during his period of intense grief. But now, incredibly, the son they shared has returned. Faith recognizes that her dad could use help raising Christian and wants to be there for the man she cares about completely. Because she’s familiar with her brother, Faith’s regular presence in his life would surely prove to be worthwhile.

From an adult perspective, it can easily be argued that Sharon needs Faith’s ongoing presence in her life more than Nick does. Sharon claims to be mentally sound and that likely is the case. But it’s possible that having Faith leave the cottage, combined with all the drama that’s gone down in recent weeks, could push her into a depression. However, viewers recognize that probably isn’t the storyline Y&R’s writers will invent for this character right now.

One benefit to living on the Newman Ranch grounds is easy proximity to the various properties that lie on it. The Tack House is within minutes of the Cottage. So, Sharon would hardly be loosing Faith if she moves in with her dad and transformed brother. ‘Shylan’ also needs time to work through their marital issues, or whatever becomes of this relationship now that the big reveal has taken place. So Faith’s request makes sense on many levels, which further reinforces this young person’s wisdom.
