Mariah (Camryn Grimes) was dragged into this nutty scheme on ‘The Young and the Restless’. She didn’t create the lie about Sully. No, that was Sharon (Sharon Case). And, now the weight of the forthcoming Christian reveal increases as Mariah remains strong, or believes that she is doing so.
As devoted viewers know, Sharon is flaky. Even the most die-hard fans of this character have to admit that some of her decisions were not pharmaceutical issues, mental health breakdowns or the result of some impossible set of circumstances. Sometimes Sharon simply just makes goofy calls and then stubbornly refuses to change her mind. This time, she’s dragged Mariah into a self-made mess and has sworn her daughter to a vow of secrecy.

Use of the term ‘goofy’ may unintentionally lessen the reality that Sharon purposefully chose to keep Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) baby. And, that was dead wrong. It was totally understandable that Sharon didn’t initially know that Sully wasn’t her child. Why would anyone suspect that a psychiatrist (Sandra Anderson, Elizabeth Bogush) would hate her ex-boyfriend, Nick (Joshua Morrow), so much that she’d be willing to steal his newborn son and give him to his ex-wife? That reads like a soap opera plot line.
Sharon didn’t break the fourth wall and thereby wasn’t able to become aware of her fictional reality. So, staying in character, Sharon believed that Sully was her son until cleared memories enabled a paternity test to be conducted. Y&R viewers know that many of Genoa City’s medical facilities provide deeply reliable results in these situations.
After proof of Christian’s revival was in-hand, Sharon was rightly shocked. Shortly thereafter, Sage confronted Sharon but then tragically died. And, so Christian remained Sully since then.

Yes, it’s true that Mariah pretended to be Cassie’s (Camryn Grimes) ghost in order to drive a different baby secret out of her mind. Thanks, Victor (Eric Braeden). But, Mariah has truly grown to care about her mother since that stretched storyline allowed Grimes to return to the show. Now, it’s time for the show’s most important power couple ‘Mally’ (Mal Young and Sally Sussman) to create a believable ending to the Sully-is-actually-Christian storyline. Wrap him up and put him to bed in Nick’s house, or better yet, at Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) penthouse because he’s actually Adam’s (formerly Justin Hartley) son.

I hope Y&R does a better job the the one than they did with the Billy n Phyllis storyline, it was such a let down. Thou I fast forward scenes wih these two characters I had hoped it would be worth watching, I was so very wrong. So here is hoping Y&R won’t mess this storyline up since viewer’s have had to wait over a year for it to come to an end.
