Some people are strong on ‘The Young and the Restless’. One of those individuals is Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan). Less than two years after being stunned by her husband’s apparent death, she believes that Adam (formerly played by Justin Hartley) is gone this time. But, Chelsea’s powerful display of strength is serving as an example of how one can live in Genoa City.
This feature is being written as though Adam is actually dead because that’s what Chelsea currently believes. Of course, it’s possible, or even probable, that Adam survived the cabin explosion and is living somewhere. But, we’ll stay within the world of this character within this digital space.
So, how is it possible that this second-time widow hasn’t crumbled? Many lesser souls would be in shambles at the moment. Shells of themselves, purely looking to exist on a moment-to-moment basis. The earlier query is answered by common sense.
Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) must be taken care of. In order to maintain her independence, Chelsea 2.0 must thrive. Chelsea has always taken her motherly responsibilities to heart and believes in her own business sense, which is why her fashion foray began and still exists.
Anita (Catherine Bach) also deserves to be mentioned. While she wasn’t the greatest mother, her influenced served to toughen Chelsea’s skin. Like her mom, she’s a reformed con artist. That life experience made her take nothing for granted and to continue to look ahead. Yes, Anita is one of the people who actually pushed Chelsea’s character in a positive direction. Whether that was intended isn’t the question.
The moment Chelsea chose to love Adam she knew that everything would be forever different. His life constantly trended on GC Buzz. Yet, that chaotic existence was also what made ‘Chadam’ a memorable super couple. Now, the first-half of that pairing has survived. Chelsea will raise her child, further her company’s success and go on living. She, like other similarly resilient human beings, is admirable.
