Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) feelings are mostly well intended on ‘The Young and the Restless’. She’s trying to protect Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) soul and the memory of her deceased husband. Her comment to not sick the authorities on ‘Shylan’ was a veiled attempt to dissuade Nick from having a DNA test conducted. But whenever he learns that Chelsea withheld information about Christian’s paternity he’s sure to feel betrayed.
Dylan (Steve Burton) and Sharon (Sharon Case) allowed Nick to take his son from their home without much of a fight. ‘Shylan’ had few, if any, options when Nick demanded that they turn Christian over or face a kidnapping charge. Whether Paul (Doug Davidson) would have actually arrested his son and daughter-in-law is questionable. But Sharon’s actions have clearly resulted in her faux family being ripped apart.
Why she didn’t come clean at some point before now is absolutely indefensible. The most ardent Sharon fans have been left with no plausible excuses and are resorting to diversionary tactics. Complaining about the storyline instead of the this character’s responsibilities is textbook enabling. Some fans might be familiar with an example of an individual who always plays the victim in real life, or they themselves cover for such actors. Yes, mirrors can be found within the soapiest of plots.
Sharon had an interesting one-on-one with Chelsea at The Underground before the above scenes were shown. Sharon reminded Chelsea that she lied to Dylan about Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) being his son a short time ago. Viewers know that the likely ex-Mrs. McAvoy is sure to attack Chelsea for her additional duplicity as soon as she learns that Adam (most recently played by Justin Hartley) is Christian’s father. Yet, Chelsea’s mixed intent seems mostly likely to be questioned by Nick first.
So, the Sully McAvoy reveal has officially moved to stage 2. The boy who’s reverted to Christian Newman will be living with Nick at the Tack house, for now. Chelsea and Victor (Eric Braeden) think that Adam is Christian’s biological father. Both characters don’t appear to have scientific proof to back their beliefs. But that doesn’t matter at this point in a stretched and complex storyline.

Diversionary tactics? Would these be the same diversionary tactics that Victor fans use lol. Yes I am a Sharon fan but not in this circumstance.
