‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Cane Pushing Through Pain – Pills Remain Dangerous Option, Prescription Addiction In The Works?

Cane (Daniel Goddard) believes that he’s managing his knee pain on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Lily’s (Christel Khalil) decision to hire a physical therapist was wise, but may not solve her husband’s problems which might be mostly mental. Cane’s workaholic attitude is the issue and he appears to possess a personality type that keeps pharmaceutical dependence in the mix.

An addiction tease has clearly been offered to Y&R’s audience on a various occasions in recent weeks. A prescription bottle was initially shown, characters have referenced Cane’s use of painkillers and the aforementioned therapist questioned her patient about his pill usage. In response, Mr. Ashby threw said bottle in the waste can.

Middle-aged people often think youthful thoughts, but the reality of their bodies create unexpected replies. Such was the case when Cane was recently playing basketball with the twins. Thankfully Lily was with them and took her husband to the hospital after he injured his knee.

Major surgery followed, along with a recommended recovery plan. Cane was rightfully concerned that Billy (Jason Thompson) and Vickie (Amelia Heinle) wouldn’t be able to keep Brash and Sassy running if he was away from the office for an extended period of time. Until recently, ‘Villy’s’ individual problems and in-fighting left Cane as the main player in Jill’s (Jess Walton) corporate play.

Billy was deeply affected by the ‘Philly’ reveal and resultant fallout. Vickie just sent Travis (Michael Roark) packing. So the other members of Brash and Sassy’s three-headed executive monster finally appear to be focused on their professional positions. Cane also considers that to be a problem because he thinks one, or both of his forced colleagues want to push him out of his job.

Cane’s personality isn’t going to change. While he attempts to work from home, his attitude about Billy and Vickie running the hen house will also remain fixed. So a seeming scenario would have him pop pills in order to facilitate a return to the office far sooner than is medically suggested.
