‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Billy Wants To Play Hero – Travis Becomes the Bad Guy

Billy (Jason Thompson) is used to being the rogue on ‘The Young and the Restless’. However, he’s actually being cast as the hero in Vickie’s current passion play. At the same time Travis (Michael Roark) has switched from good guy to goat.

Michelle (Kelly Frye) is a genuine threat to Travis’ hopes. Ashley (Eileen Davidson) also has leverage, due to her knowledge of ‘Trichelle’s’ recent actions inside the Genoa City Athletic Club. But, Billy’s persistent defense of the only woman he’s ever truly loved makes him an unexpected wild card.

Of course, Billy has been wild for years. But he’s often veered into the dark side of his personality. In a tradition twist, Vickie has become the character who needs protection from her own instincts.

Vickie seemed to have chosen the anti-Billy this time around. And Travis did initially appear to be far more stable than the men she’s married multiple times. While recent events don’t place Travis in the Mr. Wrong category, they have revealed unexpected elements in his personality.

As the mother of his two children, Vickie naturally retains a place of importance in Billy’s life. Because his dalliance with Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) ended badly, he currently has no romantic place to live. Of course, ‘Red’ was merely a distraction from Victoria. So Billy’s reversion to form makes sense.

Travis isn’t a terrible person and still seems to have done far less wrong than right, as compared to Mr. Abbott. However, Mr. Crawford’s recent actions affect modern times. His choice to momentarily revive past connections with Michelle wasn’t good. Then, he felt forced to withhold that information from Vickie in order to preserve their relationship.

Whether Vickie and Travis make it to the altar is an open question. Billy or Ashley could intercede before those nuptials come to pass. Vickie could learn what happened and that Travis opted not to tell her about it. Plus, viewers will be keeping Michelle’s comment about ‘Tricky’ being doomed in mind, as that seems more likely than not to prove prophetic.
