‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Amidst Chloe Drama, Kevin’s Outreach To Mariah Gives ‘Keriah’ A Lifeline

Kevin (Greg Rikaart) and Mariah (Camryn Grimes) bonded when they first met on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Having shared similarly rough childhoods and feeling like castoffs in modern times, this couple eventually transitioned into a brief romance. While ‘Keriah’s’ fireworks were quickly extinguished, their friendship endured. But, now that Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) has returned Kevin’s request for Mariah’s help gives this abbreviated power couple another chance.

Mariah began to recognize the deeper feelings she had for Kevin when another woman, Natalie (Mara McCaffray), first walked into Crimson Lights. ‘Katalie’ bonded via computer and then connected in-person when Kevin was on the trail of the Paragon Project in Switzerland. Natalie’s arrival in Genoa City subsequently sidelined Mariah, which unexpectedly hurt her feelings.

Grimes’ return to ‘The Young and the Restless‘ established a second character who was initially very different than her twin sister Cassie. However, Sharon’s (Sharon Case) motherly nature has proven to be the key to opening her lost daughter’s heart. Mariah was involved with Tyler (Redaric Williams), mostly before both characters debuted on ‘The Young and the Restless’. However, her connection with Kevin allowed a more complex relationship to be developed.

Kevin was thrown by Chloe’s unexpected return to town and the baby question she carried with her. But, even though Bella (Cali May Kinder) apparently isn’t his child, Kevin’s latent feelings for his ex-wife have erupted. He certainly can’t ask Natalie for her advice in this situation, since he just shell-shocked that poor soul by dumping her. So, that leaves Mariah as his most trusted friend to seek input from.

Whether ‘Keriah’ might ever reignite is questionable. But, a sustained friendship does maintain the possibility. Mariah has continued to learn how to care for people since she moved to Wisconsin. The best thing that she can do in this instance is offer Kevin support and remain engaged in his life. As for this former couple’s future, that remains to be seen. Right now Kevin needs a lifeline and Mariah is the right woman for him to call on.
