Abby (Melissa Ordway) appeared to have matured on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But she didn’t. After working through the loss of her unborn child and offering compassion to the person who caused that tragedy (Max, Jared Breeze), Abby convinced herself that ‘Stabby’ was over and possibly, never existed. Yes, the brat is back.
Of course, Hayley Erin (currently Kiki on ABC’s General Hospital) played the teenage version of this character from 2008-2010. Emme Rylan (currently Lulu on GH) was the younger adult image of Abby (2010-2013) before Ordway assumed the role.
All three women were given arcs that allowed them to project Abby’s ridiculousness throughout Genoa City.

Viewers understand that Ordway can only work with the scripts that she’s been given. So whatever reason the last writing staff had for slicing this nice super couple in half may never be known.
However, new head writer Sally Sussman has an opportunity to push this character back on track.
It was refreshing to see Abby begin to develop into a caring human being, instead of watching the shallow, me-first, materialistic diva strut around this fictional Wisconsin town ad nauseam. All Y&R fans can relate to growth spurts. But they don’t want to see someone go backwards, if that’s what happened.

‘Stitch’ is a poor soul. The man voluntarily took the rap for his mom’s (Maureen, Meredith Baxter) criminal actions many years ago, which caused him to adapt his identity and surrender his medical career for awhile. He took Abby’s constant abuse until she did a 180, claimed to have fallen in love with him and agreed to be his wife. She owes him more than some unintelligible excuse about not having feelings anymore, or never having had them at all.
Victor (Eric Braeden) spoiled Abby rotten when she was a girl. Her genetic gifts have allowed the world to fawn over her as an adult. Now she finally found a man who was genuinely devoted to her and what did she do? Tossed him aside like one of her countless baby dolls. Oh Abby, grow up!
