‘The Young and the Restless’ RUMOR: Sharon Reinvents Herself – Begins Next Chapter of Life

'The Young and the Restless' RUMOR: Sharon Reinvents Herself – Begins Next Chapter of LifeSharon has been tormenting herself on ‘The Young and the Restless’ for more than a year. Now that the Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) reveal has finally played out she can begin to reinvent herself and create a more stable existence. The new Sharon will resemble that strong person who arrived many years ago Genoa City. However, this mature 40-plus individual will apply her life experiences in positive directions rather than continuing to make a series of unbelievable mistakes.

Family life has been central to Sharon’s world forever. But her position at Chelsea 2.0 will prove key to her sense of self-moving forward. With Sully having reverted back to Christian, Sharon now has no non-school age children to care for at the cottage. That reality frees her to pursue professional challenges that will help to prevent unnecessary personal detours.

The connection she’s developed with Mariah (Camryn Grimes) will remain in effect. Recent scenes have continued to show the deep bond mother and daughter are forming. Long-time fans likely recall on a regular basis the class scenes that Case played with Grimes when she was an outstanding child actor.

Robert Adamson (Noah) moved to recurring status in the recent past. So, his character will continue to support his mom whenever possible. And Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) will stay mommy’s little girl regardless of whichever home she lives in full-time.

The many missteps Sharon has taken will begin to fade as 2017 unfolds. Strength isn’t gained by skating effortlessly from cradle to grave. So episodes involving the current Mrs. McAvoy’s baby detour will become the exception instead of the angst-ridden norm. Yes, Sharon fans are about to be given the storylines they’ve been begging for.

As loyal Y&R viewers know, Steve Burton (Dylan) previously announced that he’s voluntarily exiting the show. The veteran soap star is filming his last scenes this month and fans will see his version of Dylan disappear in by late January.

Whether Burton’s new venture with Derk Cheetwood means that Dylan will simply leave Genoa City, disappear or be killed off hasn’t been fully confirmed. So Case’s character will either be cut free from her marital ties, or remain with a recast Dylan in the near future.

Sharon has always been a great character, few would debate that point. In recent years Y&R’s writing staff opted to loop this personality to stories that were arguably repetitive and didn’t allow her to grow. Case has previously exhibited the creative agility to handle any script, storyline or extended arc. With that in mind, a true reboot won’t push Sharon back to the past. Rather this legacy character will tap into her existing mojo to face the future with a zest and a great smile.

So happy to hear this. I hope that Dylan is not recast n that he leaves or killed off. If he is killed off that might bring Nikki n Sharon together which would be great especially since she has two children by Nick.
