Lily (Christel Khalil) and Cane (Daniel Goddard) are one of the few longer-lasting super couples on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Their twins were born a number of years ago, so it seems prime time to expand the Ashby family. Shortly after the New Year begins, rumors are teasing that ‘Lane’ will proudly announce their pregnancy.
Cane’s knee surgery went well, but his recovery has been challenging because he’s resisted normal conventions until recently. His fear of being away from the office indefinitely wasn’t totally unfounded, but he’s been swayed by Jill’s (Jess Walton) recent reassurances. Being able to work from home is a blessing, though not Cane’s preferred choice.

However, Lily has kept on top of her husband. She’s made sure that he’s keeping his doctor’s appointments, isn’t going overboard with use of painkillers and smartly hired a physical therapist to ensure steady progresses. Cane’s time in the condo also allows for extra interaction with his loving wife, which can nicely enable the creation of their third child.
Numerous other couples went by the wayside in 2016, including Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Simon (played by the well-liked Michael E. Knight), who split when the good doctor left town. Luca (Miles Gaston Villanueva) was hauled off to jail before he could marry Summer (Hunter King). Abby (Melissa Ordway) has her mind set on divorcing ‘Stitch’ (Sean Carrigan) for ill-considered reasons.

Billy (Jason Thompson) still can’t get Vickie (Amelia Heinle) back and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) told him to back off a few months ago. Jack (Peter Bergman) recently kissed ‘Red’ off. Nick (Joshua Morrow) lost Sage (Kelly Sullivan) in a car accident. Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) lost Adam (Justin Hartley) to ‘This Is Us’, a dart gun and possibly a cabin explosion.
While there are some couples that have remained together, or are forming, ‘Lane’ remains in good standing. Yes, Lily and Cane lead a traditional family in a city (Genoa) that doesn’t often recognize one of the oldest institutions known to mankind.

Hey, Sean! After Lily’s ovarian cancer and hysterectomy, she only had two eggs saved, and they were used for in vitro with Mac during the surrogacy. That’s how Mattie and Charlie were born. It’s impossible for Lily to get pregnant.

STUPID. Lily had ovarian cancer years ago. They kept her eggs……which are the twins now!! Lily had a had a hysterectomy!!!!! NO BABIES!!

Yes. But, there is a new YR writer at the helm and this certainly wouldn’t be the first time that the soaps have rewritten history.
They have ran their course bring Michael E. Knight on for Ashley n some hot guy for Mariah. Neither has had a real love interest. No one wants to see Lilly n Cane we have already gone through that with Joe Clark’, please stop REPEAPING storylines. I thought the new writers were going to do better.
Sean needs to stay with his day job. He clearly doesn’t remember Lily having ovarian cancer and the hysterectomy. Lily can’t become pregnant ever again.
