‘The Young and the Restless’ RUMOR: Is Thad Luckinbill Returing To Y&R As J.T. Hellstrom?

‘The Young and the Restless’ spoilers reveal that Michael Roark [Travis Crawford] is leaving the daytime drama. That leaves Victoria Newman [Amelia Heinle] without a love interest.

It’s just a rumor now, but with Michael Roark exiting there’s an opening for  J.T. Hellstrom [Thad Luckinbill] to return to Genoa City with the couple’s son Reed Hellstrom [Tristan Lake Leabu].

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest a year ago, Luckinbill admitted that TPTB had contacted him about returning to ‘Y&R.’

At the time Luckinbill wasn’t available because the actor was working on other projects. Thad Luckinbill did stress that under the right circumstances he would absolutely be open to resuming the role as J.T.

It’s been six years since J.T. was in Genoa City. In 2010 J.T. and Mackenzie Browning [Clementine Ford] went off to Washington, D.C. because Mac has a fantastic job offer. While in D.C. the couple welcomed a son they named Dylan.
However, the last ‘Y&R’ viewers heard there was a possibility that J.T.’s marriage to Mac had hit a rough patch and the couple may have divorced.

A teenage Reed is will soon arrive in Genoa City and ‘Y&R’ fans are wondering if his dad will eventually follow. Victoria has been to hell and back over the past few years and could use a shoulder to cry on. And a love interest.

Among other things, Billy Abbot [Billy Miller, now Jason Thompson] cheated on Victoria with Kelly Andrews [portrayed by Cynthia Watros then Cady McClain] following the death of his daughter Delia Abbott [Sophie Pollono].

Plus, there was a one-night-stand with Stitch Rayburn [Sean Carrigan] that left Victoria wondering who Katherine’s father was. A paternity test revealed that Billy was Katherine’s daddy. Stitch and Victoria tried to make things work but Stitch cheated on Victoria with Ashley Abbott [Eileen Davidson].

 Victoria met a new guy and things seemed wonderful for a while.  Then came more lies and cheating from Travis and Victoria had enough. It wasn’t just Victoria’s love life that has been in disarray. Daddy dearest Victor Newman [Eric Braeden] conspired to take down his own daughter when Victoria took over the reins at Newman Enterprises.

Right now, the possibility of Thad Lukinbill’s return to ‘The Young and the Restless’ is just a rumor. But Reed will be back in town soon. If J.T. is single again it would be the perfect time for him to return to Genoa City.
