‘The Young and the Restless’ POLL: Who’s To Blame For Hevon’s Problems – Hilary, Devon or Both? VOTE!

Hilary (Mishael Morgan) bashing is common on ‘The Young and the Restless’. However, a solid case can be made that Devon (Bryton James) is at least half of ‘Hevon’s’ problem. Mr. Hamilton’s insecurities are fueling dysfunction within this super couple. Could he be more clingy?

Devon, it’s obvious that you are smitten with your lovely wife. But jeez dude, cut back on the teenager in love routine and take a cue from your grandmother. Katherine (Jeanne Cooper) learned a harsh life lesson after she jumped way overboard for Philip (Donnelly Rhodes) during Y&R’s early years. Be in love, but don’t be obsessed.

The last four letters in ‘Hevon’ could be the main problem. Devon appears to clearly be compensating for many past issues. But no one forced him to be with this woman. By allowing himself to be at her beck and call, Hilary also came to expect his total admiration. That’s not relationship balance, it’s a sign of weakness on both sides.

Now, all Hilary haters will be confronted. It’s easy to pick on that smart and physically attractive lady. Yes, the howls are heard whenever the perceived competition simply walks into the room. And when she steps out of it the bad-mouthing continues. Hilary isn’t strong, she’s a witch!, or so say the jealous.

To be fair, Ann Turner (Hilary’s birth name) did arrive in Genoa City with one goal in mind. She wanted to attack Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John), who she blamed for her mother’s death. Yes, she also tried to break up ‘Lane’. Plus, Hilary did eventually marry Neil and then back stab him all the way through to the heart by forming a relationship with Devon.

Redemption is sought by souls who believe they were wrong. All who consider themselves to be part of this group are open to Hilary’s many growth opportunities. Yes, she was, or still is self-centered. But people do evolve if they’re allowed to do so.

The two fine actors who portray this engaging super couple deserve applause. They’ve taken scripts from various writers and created solid on-screen chemistry. When all snarky provocative paragraphs have ended, the honest assertion of this scribe is that ‘Hevon’ is great entertainment!

Fans of ‘The Young and the Restless’ rightfully express their opinions on a regular basis. Is Hilary or Devon most responsible for Hevon’s relationship issues, or do both spouses share blame equally? Vote in our poll below!
