‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) fans are debating the age-old question of when is the right time to move forward after the death of a spouse?
Y&R’s Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) has been through the ringer when it comes to her late husband, Adam Newman (Justin Hartley), and with this being the second time he is dead, or assumed dead, you would think it was easier for her to move forward with her life.
Chelsea has been spending a lot of time with her former brother-in-law, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and it looks like there may be a romance brewing between these two, but is it for the right reasons, or is it too soon? It has been three months since it is believed Adam died in a fiery explosion, and with the depth of their love, it seems highly unlikely Chelsea would be able to move on so quickly, especially since the last time she assumed Adam died, he reappeared.

Nick Newman is also suffering from loneliness since he lost his wife Sage (Kelly Sullivan), and he doesn’t seem ready to move on with his love life either, but somehow Nick and Chelsea have found comfort in each other. Are they headed to an ill-fated rebound love affair, or is it something far more simple than that?
The Young and the Restless’ Chelsea knows that baby Christian Newman (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) isn’t really Nick’s, but he IS Adam’s; a secret Chelsea and Adam both promised they would keep after Sage tragically died. Maybe Chelsea isn’t ready to be with Nick, but she needs to be there because Christian is a part of Adam, and she needs to be near him.
On the other side of things, Nick is terrified of being a single father, even though he has older children he has never had to raise any of them alone, and it is all overwhelming for him. Chelsea is there and easy to reach out to in his time of need. We have seen Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) pushing Chelsea to be with Nick and be a family with him, but it seems a bit fast for her to be making such a huge decision after losing the love of her life, no?

It would be nice if CHELSEA would express some grief especially since Adam was suppose to be the love of her life. I don’t like her n Nick together. Nick is really acting more n more like Victor now days. He took NO Responsibility at all at what Dr. Sanderson did to Sharon because of him. (Yes Sharon was wrong for keeping Nick’s baby from him, No Excuse). But I feel all of them were victims. Sharon is the only one being treated badly by everyone.
My opinion only.
Nick has been alone before and survived. Sage and Nick were having marriage issues before she passed on. Just before she died the writers made them lovey dovey but prior there were many issues. Chelsea always believed Adam was not dead the first time and she did not jump into any relationships. What is the difference now – Adam’s baby? You don’t see her much with her baby but you do see her with Nick’s son a lot.
