‘The Young And The Restless’ Poll: Who Makes The Best Y&R Super Couple? Vote Now!

“The Young and the Restless” used to be defined by their super couples and strong romance driven storylines. Even five years ago, the soap had some of the steamiest sex scenes in daytime television. Since Chuck Pratt stepped into the writing chambers, the power couples are severely lacking on the soap opera.

The one super couple you could always count on was Nikki [Melody Thomas Scott] and Victor [Eric Braeden]. They have been through everything with each other and still have a great relationship. Lately, they rarely share scenes together unless they are in a family battle with one of their children or grandkids. Their love for each used to radiate out of them, but lately fans aren’t feeling it at all. It’s lukewarm at best between them.

Chelsea [Melissa Claire Egan] and Adam [Justin Hartley] are the one power couple that is still on the show. The term power couple doesn’t exactly fit them, either. They have their fans, but many feel that Chelsea would betray Adam in a heartbeat- falling short of power couple stardom.

Lily [Christel Khalil] and Cane [Daniel Goddard] would never be referred to as a super couple. Fans seemed to adore Cane, who wouldn’t? Have you seen him? They have a hard time relating to Lily. She comes across as a whiny, entitled know-it-all. Fans just haven’t completely warmed up to her, especially after she flung herself around Joe Clark [Scott Elrod].

Victoria [Amelia Heinle] and Billy [Burgess Jenkins] could be a power couple. The only thing that holds them back is their on-screen chemistry. It’s just not there. It was okay while they were co-parenting, but since they are a couple again, the fans long to see Victoria and Billy [ Villy] reach super couple status.

Sharon [Sharon Case] and Dylan [Steve Burton] are extremely boring together. They are cute, but they lack the on-screen ‘it’ that Adam and Sharon once had. Sharon’s fans adore them together because he is what she needs- a solid stable man. As for the drama, it is not working at all. Sharon needs to be with someone extremely sexy and wanted- but he should only have eyes for her. Dylan is just a tad too ordinary.

Sage [Kelly Sullivan] and Nick [Joshua Morrow] are just a big fat no. Sage came to Genoa City without any ties to anyone but had her sights set on Nick Newman. She met him in the woods after he got hurt, and it was true love ever since. Fans completely hate the matchup and seem to be counting the days until their divorce eventually happens.
