Peter Bergman – Bergman was riveting as he played both Marco Annicelli and Jack Abbott. One of the most memorable scenes was when Jack confronted his evil alter-ego and you didn’t really notice that it was one actor playing both, so diverse were the performances.
Justin Hartley – Hartley has done solid work in his Adam recast role most notably with the reveal to Chelsea that he was Adam, not Gabe. And when he faced justice for the hit and run of Delia, his anguish was genuine and gripping as he finally faced his accusers.
Burgess Jenkins – Jenkins was fine in his recast of Billy, but some of his best work in the role was as he prepared to exit as Jason Thompson took on the role. His rage at Chelsea at their wedding was tangible and his admission that Delia’s death was his fault at the trial was sublime.
Eric Braeden – Braeden as Victor is more prone to tirades than tears so that made his scenes in the vision of Christmas future where he knelt at Nikki’s tombstone was pure magic. His vulnerability and sadness were a welcome change for the tough as nails character.
Gina Tognoni – Tognoni was riveting as Phyllis in her anger that Victor had put her in the hands – and bed – of villain Marco. But it was the simmering vengeance that Victor sparked that has made her one to watch in recent months. Excellent work.
Kelly Sullivan – Sullivan perfectly encapsulated a mother’s fear when Christian was touch and go after his birth and then her suffering as she lost her newborn son was spot on. She is still doing masterful work in this arc as she grieves her child and falls prey to evil shrink Dr Anderson.
Sharon Case – Case played a mentally lost Sharon to perfection. We watched her hide her miscarriage then fall prey to drugging and psychological games at the hands of Dr A. She’s been believable and tragic as a new mother clueless that disaster is headed her way.
Melissa Claire Egan – Egan was pitch-perfect as Chelsea when she struggled to accept that “Gabriel” was Adam who had found his way back to her. The scene where Adam revealed the truth saw her run a gamut of emotions from shock, disbelief, to joy and acceptance and she was spellbinding.
