‘The Young and the Restless’ POLL: Does Jack Deserve to Lose Phyllis to Billy? VOTE!

“The Young and the Restless” viewers have been watching things heat up between Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and Billy (Jason Thompson) lately. Some fans think what they’re doing is despicable and others are fervent “Philly” supporters. Many Y&R watchers even hate the cheating aspect, but can admit that it’s sizzling!

No matter how you feel about this pairing, it’s clear that the fallout is going to be juicy. Before we get to the consequences of this hot affair, we have to examine why it happened. The trouble started for Phyllis and Jack (Peter Bergman) after Victor’s (Eric Braeden) deception was exposed. The Marco (Peter Bergman) revelation definitely turned both of their lives upside down.

Unfortunately, Jack’s fury faded while Phyllis’ rage continued to build. She became obsessed with revenge and it forced her to keep Jack at a distance. We can certainly understand Phyllis’ anger over this situation. Phyllis was sleeping with an evil drug lord and she had absolutely no idea. She was violated repeatedly and it tore her apart.

Of course, Jack went through a lot after the swap as well. He was nearly killed on several occasions. Plus, Marco completely took over Jack’s life. However, maybe Jack should’ve tried harder to understand Phyllis’ point of view. Billy was on the same page with Phyllis when it came to retribution. He vowed to fight for Phyllis when Jack withdrew his support. That’s really how Phyllis and Billy’s friendship began to bloom.

When you look at it that way, you could argue that Jack deserves to lose Phyllis. Billy stepped up when Jack wasn’t being the husband Phyllis needed. On the other hand, Jack has truly tried to repair the damage over the last couple of months. He’s been reaching out to Phyllis every chance he gets. Is it too little, too late? Phyllis has fallen for Billy and there may be no turning back.

Still, Phyllis is a dirty cheater and there’s just no denying that. “The Young and the Restless” viewers know that marriage vows don’t mean much in Genoa City, but they should. Phyllis and Jack promised to love each other for better or for worse. Phyllis couldn’t stick it out when times were tough.

Jack could be a victim if you consider that angle. Nevertheless, all of this might be for the best. Phyllis cares about Jack, but it seems her heart simply isn’t in their relationship anymore. Perhaps this will work out for Jack in the long run. He shouldn’t have to be trapped in a loveless marriage.
