Many fans of ‘The Young and the Restless’ Joe Clark (Scott Elrod) either loved or hated the character. He definitely had some good qualities but he also played the “bad boy” persona really well. He was the ex-husband of Avery Bailey Clark (Jessica Collins), the younger sister of Phyllis Newman (then Michelle Stafford).
Avery quickly gets involved with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), who happened to be Phyllis’ ex-husband, and the father to her niece, Summer Newman (Hunter King). Avery and Nick almost get married, until she realizes she is still in love with Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton). The same man she cheated on while married to Joe, and also, as it turned out, Nick Newman’s half-brother!
Joe did everything in his power to win Avery back, and when he kissed her without her consent, she pushes him and he falls over the balcony. His fall resulted in some minor injuries, but Joe fakes paralysis to force a guilt-ridden Avery to stay by his side. After Joe framed Cane for extorting Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), he is arrested and extradited back to Chicago. This is the last we see of Joe Clark on The Young and the Restless.
After his one-year stint at Y&R, Scott Elrod went on to play the character, Dr. Major Will Thorpe, who was to be Meredith Grey’s (Ellen Pompeo) first post- Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) love interest on Grey’s Anatomy. He didn’t last there very long, but we have great news for his fans, Scott has booked multiple episodes on NBC’s Chicago Fire.
Scott Elrod will portray the character, Travis Brenner, who we will first meet during a “fire call” He is a drop dead gorgeous Instagram celebrity, who tempts Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) to join his fast paced and exciting inner circle. Travis will be attracted to Severide because of his nonchalant kind of attitude, Severide isn’t like the typical people Travis has traveling in his entourage.
Scott Elrod is going to cause a lot of mischief in the first three episodes he will be in. Chicago Fire’s Season 5 premiere is scheduled for Tuesday, October 11th at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
