‘The Young and the Restless’ News: Encore Date for Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors Starring Alyvia Alyn Lind

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) fans who loved the movie Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love are in for a treat. NBC has announced that it will re-air the sequel on December 23, 2016. If you have not seen it, now is your chance to enjoy the wonderful movie.

Alyvia Alyn Lind (Faith Newman, Y&R) portrays Dolly Parton as a young girl in this movie as well as its prequel Coat of Many Colors that came out last year. Dolly Parton, herself, and Jennifer Nettles, singer for the country band Sugarland, also star in the movie.

Nettles plays Dolly Parton’s mother, Avie Lee Parton, while Ricky Schroder plays her father, Robert Lee Parton. Dolly Parton also appears on screen, in a small but vitally important role as the Painted Lady. Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love is about the next part in a young Dolly Parton’s life.

It is about how her family struggled through tough times and how they stayed strong and survived. Also, in the sequel, someone important to Dolly discovers just how talented Dolly really is, and that her talent could possibly be far bigger than they all imagined. This shows just a glimpse into the beginnings of Dolly’s musical career.

Dolly Parton is famous for her songs Coat of Many Colors, Jolene and the song Whitney Houston brought back to life, I Will Always Love You. Her career began at the tender age of 12 and by the time she was 13-years-old, she was performing at the Grand Ole Opry, quite an achievement for such a young girl!

This movie should be great for General Hospital fans too, as Hannah Nordberg who portrayed Josslyn Jacks from 2014-2015 plays the role of Judy Ogle, Dolly’s life-long best friend. These two are so close there have been many rumors about their relationship for decades.
