‘The Young And The Restless’ News: ‘Y&R’ Casting Judge Russell – More Legal Battles To Come

A new casting call has been sent out for a temporary role on ‘The Young & the Restless’ according to Soap Opera Digest. The cast of Y&R is certainly getting bigger with the recent addition of Chrishell Stause in her new role and other fine talents.

According to SOD, Y&R is seeking to fill the role of Judge Russell. His character description highlights that he is “sophisticated and by the book”. Clearly he is a no nonsense judge.

The casting call mentions that it is a temporary role which means that the character could possibly air for a handful of episodes. Though no further details have been given, it definitely seems one of Genoa City residents is about to face the court.

If this judge is as strict as the casting call leads us to believe, one GC resident could be facing jail time. Just which one of the residents could it be? Spoilers tease war between the Newman’s and the Abbott’s is heating up, is this the judge that will take on the case?

With things building up between the Abbott’s and the Newman’s in their fight for Passkey, looks like the court will get involved. If indeed this is the reason for the Judge’s presence and if the decision is solely up to Judge Russell, one of these families will certainly be on the losing end.

‘The Young And The Restless’ spoilers recently revealed that Sage Newman (Kelly Sullivan) will learn that Christian is alive, and is actually baby Sully during the week of April 25.  Judge Russell could also be a family court judge, maybe Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sage take Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) to court to try and get their baby back.

No taping date or air date has been added to casting tidbit, but one can assume this Judge will show up very soon. No age range, nor ethnicity has been added either so it is safe to say, that the role is left open for one who fits the acting genre.
