It is indeed good when the actors and actresses we watch day after day can voice their opinions without being fearful. This is the case with ‘The Young and the Restless’ recurring actress Judith Chapman (Gloria) who took to her Facebook Page to share her thoughts on the show’s decision to have the Chancellor Mansion demolished.
The show wrote Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) as the new owner of the mansion who decided to have it renovated to his liking. Several fans thought this should not have been the case as that place holds so many memories. It was one of the greatest homes in Genoa City and to have it revamp was distasteful to them.
Apparently Chapman shares the views of several fans who thought the original Chancellor Mansion should have stayed apart of Genoa City long term. Chapman did not agree with the show revamping such an important part of their history. She highlighted her disagreement with a Facebook post: “Just need to say… To ALL OF YOU, Who liked, and commented on my post (shared with me) about the demise of KATHERINE CHANCELLOR’S MANSION… from a timeless version of elegance, taste, love, and knockdown, drag out fun and drama to a gray, lifeless, colorless institution… Not unlike another colorful “SEE AND BE SEEN PALACE”… GLOWORM, designed by the brilliant Joe Bavaqua (no across the hall at BandB) burned to the ground, and replaced with a hotel, airport land bar…”
We are not sure if we will see Gloria Bardwell appear in GC any time soon per her announcement in 2015 but we are anticipating seeing her glowing presence once again.
