‘The Young and the Restless’ News: Y&R Alum Alicia Coppola Joins the Cast Of Shameless

“The Young and the Restless” alum Alicia Coppola who portrayed the part of Doctor Meredith Gates will be joining the cast of Showtimes drama series Shameless for the upcoming 7th season. She will be playing a recurring role. So if you are a fan of Alicia Coppola you will now get to see her on another show. She did an amazing job playing the prison doctor on Y&R. Do you miss her on the show?

According to deadline.com “Coppola will play Sue, a blue-collar, no-nonsense woman who works with Ian Monaghan as the supervisor of a group of EMT’s.” Season 7 of Shameless premieres at 9pm on Sunday, October 2nd. So if you are a fan of the show or Alicia Coppola then mark your calendars.

On the upcoming season of Shameless, it is said that things could finally look up for the Gallaghers. Frank (William Macy) will be declaring war after waking up from a coma to learn that his loved ones tossed him in a river. When Alicia Coppola debuted on Y&R and took fans by surprise when she fell for the great Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Many fans were not pleased with her role because they knew it meant Victor would soon be getting released from prison. Alicia played the daughter of a very powerful Judge, who of course set Victor free with only 2 years probation as long as he agreed to stay away from his daughter Meredith Gates. So that was the last we saw of her on Y&R.

Alicia Coppola tweeted “So happy to join this FAB cast.” So it looks like she is excited to be taken over the role as Sue on the upcoming season 7 on the Showtime drama series Shameless.
