‘The Young And The Restless’ News: Victoria Rowell Working On New Movie ‘The Rich And The Ruthless,’ Details Here!

‘The Young and the Restless’ alum Victoria Rowell [Ex-Drucilla Winters] has ventured into a new project. Her novel, ‘The Rich and the Ruthless’ is now turning into a movie and production has already begun for the upcoming film.

Jamey Giddens from Daytime Confidential was hired to assist Rowell with writing the upcoming TV movie. Giddens highlights that this new job kept him rather busy so much so that he has not been blogging much on the DC website. Rowell visited Jamaica last year in which she made a couple stops including to the National Library of Jamaica and was believed to be checking out locations to shoot the film.

‘The Rich and the Ruthless’ is said to be filming both in Jamaica and Los Angeles and has a star studded cast. Mykel Shannon Jenkins, Brenda Epperson, Richard Brooks, Alesha Renee, Chrystale Wilson, Elizabeth Carlisle, Oliver Samuels, Michael Tucci, Dawnn Lewis, Michael Colyar, Shadoe Stevens, Hunter Bodine, Valenzia Algarin and Starletta Dupois are all listed as cast members for the project.

Rowell spoke with Daytime Confidential in which she noted “In a time of breathtaking discord around race, gender and economic inclusion, I am proud as executive producer, director and co-writer to present The Rich and the Ruthless, which embodies all that entertainment and media, can and should be”. She is currently hard at work and has been since day one trying to bring this novel to life with a movie.

At this point a release date is yet to be announced but with production already started, SOS is projecting a 2017 release. And for those who may not know, Rowell rose to fame playing the role of Drucilla Winters on ‘The Young and the Restless’ for many years before falling off a cliff to her death. So fans are you anticipating Rowell’s upcoming movie?
