Steve Burton made a recent announcement confirming his departure from “The Young and the Restless” and now fans are all dying to know when his last air date is. We have those details here!
Steve Burton is known for his role as Dylan McAvoy on “The Young and the Restless.” You may also remember him as the former Jason Morgan on “General Hospital.” Steve recently made an announcement that he was leaving Y&R to have more free time with his family. Steve owns a restaurant named “Jack and Jameson’s Smokehouse” in Franklin Tennessee and has a band called “Port Chuck,” so that is where he has been and will be spending most of his time.

Steve Burton revealed on Twitter that his last air date on Y&R would be around the end of January. As we all know his contract ran out in December but the soaps do tape 4-6 weeks ahead. So that is the reason we will all still be seeing him in January. We wish nothing but the best for him and support his decision. It has yet to be revealed if there is going to be a recast for his character but it is not looking like the writers are going to go in that direction.
Interestingly, Steve Burton also made a pretty cryptic tweet about a possible soap return. When one fan stated they were sad to watch his final scenes and see him go, Steve Burton teased, “Never say Never.” We’re not entirely sure what that means, but some soap fans are taking it as a hint that he may be back to Genoa City some day.
A lot of fans have grown to love the character of Dylan McAvoy on Y&R and hopes that they will have a recast but if he is written out how would you like to see him go? It would be awesome if Dylan decided to get back with Avery Bailey Clark (Jessica Collins).
As we all know Avery is no longer on the show, so he could leave town to be with her and they could live happy ever after. What do you Y&R viewers think of that idea? Y&R fans all agree that they definitely do not want him killed off the show.
So stay tuned to CBS’s “The Young and the Restless” to see how the future of Dylan McAvoy plays out. Don’t forget to check often with Soap Opera Spy for all your latest Young and Restless spoilers, news, updates, and much more.
