‘The Young And The Restless’ News: Sienna Mercuri Joins ‘Y&R’ Cast As Katie Newman

‘The Young and the Restless’ spoilers tease that Billy [Jason Thompson] and Victoria’s [Amelia Heinle] daughter, Katie, is getting a new look. In the coming weeks the former couples’ daughter will be aged as Sienna Mercuri takes over the role of Katie Newman.

Katie was previously portrayed by twins Kennedy and Reeese Staib but will now be portrayed by Mercuri as reported by Star-Kidz. They tweeted “#YR casting news – Sienna Mercuri has taken over the role of Katie”. The tweet also displayed an image of Victoria, Billy [Jason Thompson], the new Katie and her brother Johnny.

Victoria’s pregnancy was a major storyline back then It was believed at the time of her pregnancy that Stitch [Sean Carrigan] could possibly be the father. Victoria withheld the truth of the paternity as she contemplated what to do. At this time Billy was portrayed by Burgess Jenkins. However, Katie was born on the November 17, 2014 episode.

This episode showed Victoria going into labor after she was locked in a storage closet at the Jabot’s parking lot. Victoria was locked in there by Stitch’s mother Maureen Russell played by Meredith Baxter. Stitch and Billy were the ones to discover Victoria and she was already in labor.

Katie, their daughter, was born right there and delivered by Stitch. Later after a good conversation with her brother Nick [Joshua Morrow], Victoria decides to come clean. She gathers both guys and shares with them that Billy is indeed the father. It was on the November 26 episode of that year that Victoria revealed her daughter’s name. She was named after Katherine Chancellor [Jeanne Cooper]. Katie was also given the middle name Rose in honor of deceased Delia.
