‘The Young And The Restless’ News: Scott Elrod’s First ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Air Date Revealed

“The Young and the Restless” alum Scott Elrod [Joe Clark] has shared with fans the date he’ll premiere on the ABC hit nighttime drama “Grey’s Anatomy.” Tune in Thursday, March 17, or set your DVR, because Dr. Will Thorpe is coming to Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital!

We’re not sure yet if Dr. Thorpe will be a permanent addition to the staff or if Scott has just a guest-starring role, perhaps appearing for a few episodes. What we do know from the photo Elrod tweeted is that the good doc is an active duty Army doctor. This must mean Dr. Thorpe must, in some way, be connected to Dr. Owen Hunt [Kevin McKidd], who has served as a field doctor in the Armed Forces.

What did Scott Elrod share on Twitter? It’s a photo of a hospital ID badge with the name Thorpe, Will, Doctor Surgical Oncology, Military Personnel, Armed Forces of the United States, Army, Active Duty. The snapshot is captioned, “We’re happy to be able to announce @Scott_Elrod first episode on @GreysABC will air on March 17th #GreysAnatomy.”

Scott Elrod vacated his role as Joe Clark on “Y&R” on December 11, 2015. It appears as if Scott barely got had a breather before he was filming on the “Grey’s Anatomy” set! Elrod did take a break at Christmas – he proposed to his girlfriend Vanessa and the couple is expecting a baby in June.

Elrod also made another announcement via Twitter recently. The 2012 made-for-television movie “Stolen Child” will be available on DVD April 12 – but fans can pre-order it now from Amazon. Scott portrays John who is married to Amanda. The couple adopts a baby girl from girl only to uncover shocking, scary and secrets that threaten the family they have always dreamed of.

“The Young and the Restless” – and “Grey’s Anatomy” fans – are you excited to see what happens with Scott Elrod’s character Dr. Will Thorpe? Will he be a love interest for Dr. Meredith Grey [Ellen Pompeo] or Dr. Amelia Shepherd [Caterina Scorsone]? And how long will Dr. Thorpe be in town? We’ll just need to wait until Thursday, March 17 when Scott joins the #TGIT lineup on ABC!
