This is some soapy good news! Michael Graziadei is set to reprise the role of Daniel Romalatti on ‘The Young and the Restless’ this coming summer. EW was the first to break the casting news sharing that the adopted son of Phyllis Newman [Gina Tognoni] and Danny [Michael Damian] is about to return to Genoa City.
According to the report, Graziadei returns later this summer but only for a while. His first episode is slated to air August 25th and will continue into the show’s 11,000th episode milestone which will be on September 1, 2016 and possibly beyond.

It looks like Mal Young, who recently took over from Jill Farren Phelps as the show’s executive producer, is hard at work in terms of casting and storylines. Young’s first casting move was to reach out to Graziadei for a return, but for a short period. What will Daniel’s story be when he gets back to Genoa City? Will he learn of his mother’s affair with Billy Abbott [Jason Thompson]? Will he get caught up with any of his former lovers for instance Lily [Christel Khalil]? Will he find new romance on his limited visit back to GC?
The last time Daniel Romalatti was seen was in 2013. The character first exited the canvas on January 3, 2013 but returned later that summer when his mother fell into a coma. His return was only for a couple episodes which brought his last appearance on August 2, 2013.

Well, thank goodness we don’t have to wait much longer. This return has been long anticipated and we know it has made several fans very happy. I would love for him n Mariah to get together especially since they were together when she played Cassie. And now that Kevin has been so cruel to her. Yes I know Daniel is suppose to be older than her, but I remember how Nick n Sharon worried about Cassie being with Daniel. Will he return with Lucy? Chloe is back with a baby also, so Y&R will have lots of babies but please please please don’t let one of them get stolen. I thought that Daniel is Phyllis biological child I don’t remember him being adopted as this article states. He belongs to Danny n Phyllis thou Danny had custody of Daniel.
You are right in both cases. Daniel is Phyllis’s bio son but Danny adopted him. I freaked a little about that claim. And thank you for suggesting Daniel & Mariah. I love it. But he was with Abbey (by the pool remember?) for a short storyline when she was the naked heiress.
In an article above, they reference Daniel as the adopted son of Phyllis and Danny. Not true. Phyllis was pregnant by another guy when she drugged Danny ,later claiming he was the father.After this destroyed his relationship with Christine, they learned he was not the bio dad and contacted the father who signed over his paternal rights. Danny adopted him and gt sole custody, but Phyllis is his biological mother.
Thanks because I knew he was Phyllis son, n I remember Danny getting custody of him. I still would love to see Daniel n Mariah together they had chemistry which I think makes the story more believable. I didn’t like him with either Abby, Lily or the girl that played Lucy’s Mom. I just can’t believe that he is a year older than Billy. How do u think he will deal with Phyllis n NO CHEMISTRY Billy?
