‘The Young And The Restless’ News: Matthew Atkinson Starring In New Movie ‘Sisters Of The Groom’

‘The Young And The Restless‘ alum Matthew Atkinson is starring in a new movie called ‘Sisters Of The Groom.’  Atkinson has been updating his fans with pictures with his co-stars from set of the new movie – and it looks like he is working along side a stellar cast!

Matthew Atkinson made his ‘The Young And The Restless‘ debut as Austin Travers in April 2014 – he was working as a camera man on Avery’s television show.  It was later revealed that he had an axe to grind with Avery over his mother’s death – but his relationship with Summer Newman saved him from having to face the music after he attempted to seek revenge.  Matt’s final air date on the CBS soap opera was in August 2015 when he fell victim to the ‘Cabin Killer.’

After Atkinson’s exit from ‘The Young And The Restless’ there were rumors floating around that he may be returning – but they never came to fruition.  Regardless, Matthew has been busy working on a new project.  There isn’t too much information out there on his new movie ‘Sisters Of The Groom,’ but we do know that the cast includes Savannah Jayde (Big Time Rush), Malese Jow (The Flash, Star-Crossed), and Jeremy Sumpter (Friday Night Lights).  It’s unclear what role Matt is portraying in the new film – but he does mention filming a lot of “cooking and eating,” and preparing for his role as a chef.
